Groundhog Day

Its Groundhog day, and unfortunately Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow.  But on the positive side, its my birthday 🙂 Now if you know Maggie and I, you know we love good food. To take it one step further I LOVE to cook for my family and friends. It can be such a intimate, and playful experience. Spending time together while preparing, then while cooking, and eating at a table together is a memorable experience. It also gives me a way to spend more quality time with my beautiful wife, have meaningful conversations, and maybe play footsies! Although I usually end up cleaning up by myself 🙁

This year I want to get back in the kitchen more and produce high quality meals for us all. Last night was the Super Bowl, now believe it or not…. we are not big sports people…. dun…dun…dun. I will watch and stay current of whats going on but I do not paint my belly and root for a certain team haha. My mouth was watering for home cooked food all day so as a family we got our cook on.

We started with some fresh pizza dough. Our son Wyatt got his turn at making his first pizza ever (with just a little help). The flour was flying, and it looked like it snowed inside. Then we rolled it, put on some sauce and cheese, and boom into the oven it went.

Thanks to lifeproof iPhone cases Maggie was able to capture all of these events without the care of the indoor snow storm 😉

WINGS…. Whats game day without wings?? One of my favorite foods besides sushi is Wings. This time I made everything from scratch. Except the chicken.

Want to make your own wings? Here’s what I did.

WINGS:

1. Grow Chicken, try to use organic soil… wait a minute…. Go to store and buy organic chicken wings 😉

2. Do the Chicken dance. Here’s how.

3. Break out the deep fryer.

4. Add oil, I like to use vegetable oil in my deep frier.

5. Get oil to 375 degrees.

6. Drop in wings for 5-7 minutes.

7. Remove from frier and place on paper towels and let cool.

8. Once Cooled (5-7 minutes again) Put back into deep frier for a second round. This makes the wings more crispy and juicer.

9. Add your favorite hot sauce or make your own. My recipe below 🙂

10. Serve with veggies and blue cheese/ranch dressing for dipping.

HOT SAUCE:

1. Grab a small pot.

2. 1 stick of butter.

3. 12 ounces of hot sauce (Franks Red Hot)

4. 1 table spoon of honey.

5. 1 table spoon of garlic powder

6. 1/2 teaspoon of salt

7. Mix everything into pot and simmer.

8. Enjoy!

Then If you are having a snow day like us, play in the snow 😉
