Indoor S’mores – Recipe for a fun date night

I LOVE to make S’mores dip for Maggie on quiet rainy nights, it’s also a easy in for cuddle time and holding hands. I sometimes seriously fantasize about cuddling up on the couch, hand in hand, and falling asleep wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket, watching a movie.

After our little instagram post about Maggie & I having this during last weeks date night, we got quite a few inquiries about how to make it.  So for you viewing pleasure I put together a little visual, now prepare to get hungry 😉

Step 1– Find your spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, financé and give them a smooch, and maybe a tap on the darrière.

Step 2– Dance…  and while your at it, find ingredients.

Here’s what you need if you don’t have any in stock.

Step 3– Add Chocolate chips.
Next you will fill the skillet about half way with chocolate chips. You must first figure out if you more of a chocolate freak or Marshmallow lover. I’m all about those fluffy white pillow of deliciousness with just a bit of chocolate. Maggie on the other hand favors the Chocolate. So we do a 50/50 split. Shhhhhh don’t tell her that most of the time I throw extra mallows on top 😉

Step 4– Add Marshmallows, see previous paragraph for ratio instructions!

Step 5- Bake.
Now we use a toaster oven but a regular oven will do just fine. Crank that baby up to 350 and put it in, skillet and all for 10 minutes.

During that 10 minutes brew up some Hot Cocoa, flavor with peppermint, baileys, or what every your personal preference is. Remember to be fun and try new things too.

Now that 10 minutes or so have gone by, grab a blankie, a spot on the couch, your BFFL, and the dip.  Have a fun and enjoy your date night.

Optional Equipment-

  • Wine- Red usually pairs well with chocolate.
  • Sweatpants.
  • Your favorite movie
  • Fire (Helps with the simulated S’mores effect) we know you still have the yule log channel saved.
  • Minion shaped graham cracker cookies, for dipping.
  • A slow dance, with or without music.
